BNXN shares his mindset behind calling Ruger’s name during his Headie Award acceptance speech.
Daniel Benson aka BNXN has addressed why he mentioned the name of Mavin signee, Ruger, during his acceptance speech at the 15th Headies award ceremony.
According to BNXN, he did that to make sure that no fans would assume or imply that he and his colleague had a personal beef.
BNXN was the star of the night at the just finished 15th edition of the renowned Headies Award in Atlanta, US. The music sensation won the highly coveted Next Rated Artiste category, which also featured nominations for colleagues Ruger, Zinoleesky, Ayra Starr, Lojay, and Ruger.
A video going viral on the internet showed the moment BNXN stormed the stage with his crew members to accept his award.
Shortly after expressing gratitude to individuals who had helped him along the way, BNXN took some time to give his colleague Ruger a special shout-out.

“This is for Ruger, I love this boy,” BNXN said while pointing at the singer who was seated in the front row as members of the audience roared with excitement. The shout-out surprised fans because the music stars publicly dragged each other on Twitter days prior to the event.
Speaking to The Nation, the ‘Outside’ singer said,
“I needed people to understand that he is the list of my worries, like on a level, if it is competition-wise, talent-wise, or anything he is just the least of my worries, this is not a thing I don’t want people to think there is a Buju and Ruger thing(beef).”
Continuing, he said, “I needed people to understand that I’m doing me and I am more focused on my music and my journey to even caring about another man’s thing.”
