Blaqbonez Shares Hilarious Story of How He and Ckay Got “Stranded” in Peckham on Their First UK Trip
Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez has cracked up fans with a hilarious story about how he and fellow artist Ckay accidentally ended up “stranded” in Peckham, South London, during one of their earliest visits to the UK.
Speaking on the In My Opinion podcast, the Cinderella Girl hitmaker recalled how the pair, excited to be in London for the first time, unknowingly booked an Airbnb in the heart of Peckham, thinking they had found a great deal.
“Soon as we land in London, we discovered that the apartment was in Peckham,” Blaqbonez laughed. “I was like, ‘Eh! All the London we’ve been seeing doesn’t look like this!’”
Things got even funnier when the duo proudly told friends they were “in London,” only to get confused reactions.
“They’d ask, ‘Where are you?’ and we’d say, ‘Peckham.’ Then they’d go, ‘Aye bro, what you doing in the ends?’”
At the time, the rappers had no idea that “the ends” was slang for a rough neighborhood. “That’s when we knew we couldn’t stay there,” Blaqbonez said, laughing as he recalled how they packed their bags immediately and started looking for another place.
He added that they ended up “doing mandatory walking” across the city, dragging their luggage around while searching for new accommodation. When asked if he’s ever been back to Peckham since, Blaqbonez burst into laughter:
“Never again! Once bitten, twice shy.”
The interview clip has since gone viral across social media, with fans calling it one of the funniest celebrity travel stories of the year.
Many praised Blaqbonez for his unfiltered storytelling, while others joked that “every Nigerian’s first trip to London has a Peckham plot twist.”
