Blaqbonez explains why Davido’s scene is absent from the “Back in Uni” video.
Chocolate City rapper “Emeka Akumefule,” known professionally as Blaqbonez, has explained why he omitted Afrobeats star, David Adedeji Adeleke, popularly known by his stage name, Davido’s scene, from the music video for his new song, “Back In Uni.”
On Wednesday, October 12, he released “Back In Uni,” to overwhelmingly positive reviews and divisive responses.
Blaqbonez recreated scenes from songs like Wizkid’s “Bad To Me,” Oxlade’s “Ku Lo Sa,” Ruger’s “Girlfriend,” Ayra Starr’s “Rush,” and Fireboy DML’s “Bandana” among others in the self-directed video.

Amid the hype, however, fans raised questions about why he did not include OBO. While some insinuated that he was not big enough which is why the rapper omitted him, others stated that he is too big to be ‘ridiculed’ like the other artists in the video.
In response, Blaqbonez said that people are just trying to stir an agenda and though he loves such, there was actually a Davido scene which he could not achieve for reasons he did not disclose.
The ‘Haba‘ Crooner noted that he has maximum respect for the DMW boss whom he addressed as 001.
He shared a screenshot of the video brief on PDF and wrote;
”I love a good agenda but the truth is we had a Davido scene that we couldn’t achieve for a bunch of reasons. Director Blaqbonez 100% respects 001 ????”
