Nigerian rap star Blaqbonez has pushed back the release of his much-anticipated album, “No Excuses,” which was originally scheduled to drop on Friday, August 22, 2025.

The rapper made the announcement via his X (formerly Twitter) page on Thursday, August 21, teasing fans first with: “now that you guys are a little excited, i have something to say…”
In a statement screenshot attached to the post, Blaqbonez explained his reasons with his trademark honesty: “I just want to say the album no longer drops tonight. I didn’t finish it on time — that’s the truth. Since I want to put out the best album ever, I’ve refused to cut any corners, and that means it’s taking a little longer.”
‘No Excuses,’ his fourth studio album, has been the subject of heavy fan anticipation in recent weeks.
Set to carry 16 tracks, the project promises a blend of witty wordplay, brash energy, and Blaqbonez’s signature storytelling.
Ahead of the album, he had already dropped singles like ‘Louder,’ ‘W for WETEGO,’ and ‘Go Crazy,’ which gave fans a glimpse of the sound he has been crafting.
Though the delay may have come as a letdown, the Chocolate City rapper softened the blow with good news — a brand-new track from the album, ‘Everlasting Taker,’ will be released instead.
He urged fans to “focus our energy on that,” hinting that the wait for the full project would be worthwhile.
Blaqbonez’s career has shown steady progression, from breakout hits on ‘Sex Over Love’ (2019) — including ‘Haba‘ and ‘Bling‘ to the reflective tones of ‘Young Preacher and the bold statements on ‘Emeka Must Shine.’ With “No Excuses,” he aims to raise the bar even higher.
While he kept the exact date under wraps, the rapper assured fans that the new release is “mad close,” stressing that he would only reveal it when it is “10000000% sure.”
For now, listeners will have to enjoy the newly promised single while they await his next big move.
