Police Launch Investigation Into Blaqbonez Over Alleged Harassment and Cyberstalking
Nigerian rapper Emeka Akumefule, popularly known as Blaqbonez, is reportedly under police investigation following a formal petition accusing him of harassment, cyberstalking, and blackmail after a woman alleged that he targeted her online for rejecting his advances.
The petition, filed with the Nigeria Police Force on October 25, 2025, claims the 29-year-old artist violated several provisions of Nigerian law, including the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act of 2015, the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Act of 2015, and the Data Protection Act of 2023.
According to the complaint, Blaqbonez allegedly engaged in emotional harassment and circulated private videos on social media after the complainant declined his proposal.
Legal representatives for the petitioner stated that two formal letters demanding ₦200 million in damages and a public apology were previously sent to the artist but received no response, prompting the filing of the police petition.
Police sources have confirmed receipt of the petition and revealed that an investigation is underway to authenticate the claims and review the available digital evidence.
