I’ve barely been eating for almost 2 months – Blaqbonez opens up on weight loss
Nigerian rapper Emeka Akumefule, widely known by his stage name Blaqbonez, has addressed growing concerns from fans over his noticeable weight loss.
The buzz started after the rapper posted a new photo of himself on X (formerly Twitter), where he was seen donning a British-inspired outfit featuring a turtleneck, button-up shirt, and skirt while rocking loose dreadlocks. Fans quickly noticed that he appeared visibly slimmer than usual, prompting questions and speculation.
One concerned fan asked bluntly, “You’re dieing bro,” while another questioned if he was “losing his life.” In response to the comments, Blaqbonez decided to clarify the situation.
In a candid message, the “Back in Uni” rapper revealed that his recent weight drop isn’t health-related but rather due to his ongoing challenges with eating while abroad.
According to him, his strong attachment to Nigerian cuisine makes it hard for him to eat foreign meals, especially during extended trips.
“My problem is I only like Nigerian food, so whenever I leave the country, I struggle to eat,” he shared. “I’ve been on the road for almost 2 months, barely eating, cos I want to give u guys the best album experience ever. I’d add some weight soon. No Excuses.”
Blaqbonez also reassured fans that he’s in good health and that the physical change is temporary. He emphasized that his current condition is the result of nonstop work on his upcoming album, which he promises will be his best yet.
With the project in its final stages, fans can expect a powerful body of work and, hopefully, a healthier-looking Blaqbonez soon.
