I’ll tackle the Govt soon- Black Sherif
Black Sherif has complied with requests from some fans to write a song criticising the appalling behaviour of those in power.
The 21-year-old artist, who was recently voted Artiste of the Year at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs), has vowed to use his platform to call on the ruling party to behave morally and in the people’s best interests.
Following his victory at the VGMAs, Sherif, whose career has been on the rise since he first came into the public eye a few years ago, explained to Berla Mundi that his music is not political in nature.
He acknowledged the complexity of the problems when asked about the state of the nation and the administration at the time. He conceded that at this point, he was cautious to offer a thorough critique.
Meanwhile, the rapper, age 21, is cited as stating….!
AS I SIT HERE RIGHT NOW, I DON’T KNOW HOW TO COMMENT ON THE ISSUES REGARDING THE GOVERNMENT. BUT MAYBE NEXT YEAR, OR IN THE NEXT TWO YEARS, I’LL KNOW HOW TO SPEAK ON THAT. IT’S LONG TO CHAT THROUGH THE GOVERNMENT TO THE PEOPLE THAT’S WHY I LOVE THAT THERE’S NO BARRIER BETWEEN ME AND THE PEOPLE BECAUSE OF MY MUSIC.
“I love accountability. Mostly when I’m talking, I’m very slow in choosing my words. I want to be aware of whatever word I put out… My face is in the people’s faces, so I’m talking to them. I’m doing my best,” he conveyed.
