Black Sherif reflects on his success as Ghana’s top-streamed artist
Ghanaian sensation Black Sherif recently reflected on his remarkable achievement of being named Ghana’s most-streamed artist on Spotify for two consecutive years. In an interview with Capital Xtra, he expressed gratitude for the support he receives, stating that it serves as a driving force for him to create more impactful music.
During his conversation with Kamilla Rose on Capital Xtra in the UK, Blacko shared his excitement about reaching such a significant milestone. He emphasized that this recognition fuels his passion for music and allows him to express himself creatively in the studio. Black Sherif’s dominance on Spotify’s annual list for 2023 positioned him ahead of notable figures like Sarkodie and Stonebwoy.
When asked about his feelings regarding being the most-streamed artist, he responded, “It’s crazy. I think those are part of the reasons why I want to make music and see how far it gets. It makes me want to do more, and it gives me a lot of freedom because nobody was policing this music. I love freedom with art. I love to do whatever I want in the studio and see what it does for me.”
"How does that feel knowing that many people listen to your music?"
