Black Sherif Makes Ghana Proud By Being The Youngest Musician To Reach 1 Billion Streams across all music platforms.
Ghanaian singer and rapper Mohammed Ismail Sharrif, professionally known as Black Sherif, is the only musician from Ghana to have amassed 1 billion streams altogether across all music platforms as of April 2023.
He released three critically acclaimed projects, The Villain I Never Was, Second Sermon, and First Sermon, and the 21-year-old was successful in getting music listeners to stream his song on a number of music streaming platforms, including iTunes, AudioMack, Boomplay, Spotify, Deezer, and Youtube.
He has received recognition as a rising talent in the Ghanaian music industry ever since he burst onto the scene with his hit song “Money.”
Industry insiders explain that his distinct narrative style and sound set him apart from other musicians in Ghana while his music has found a home with listeners all over the world to explain how he was able to achieve this milestone in such a short period of his career.
The 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards have nominated Black Sheriff for Artiste of the Year, and it is said that he is a brilliant singer who worked very hard, which is why he was successful.
“He has been consistently releasing music and building his brand over the past year, despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic,” wrote a social media user.
The young musician has previously been recognized for his music streaming, as his debut album, “Villian I Never Was,” earned more than 70 million streams on Audiomack in less than 24 hours.
He was honoured by Boomplay when he earned the 100 million Golden mark on the platform in 2022.
“For a platform that first discovered Black Sherif as a potential rising star, Boomplay is proud to see his phenomenal growth in such a short time,” Boomplay Ghana public relations manager Paul Azumah-Ayitey said at an awards presentation.
Sherif, a musician signed to the American record label and distribution giant EMPIRE, is actively engaging with his fans on social media as part of his success formula.
His collaboration with other musicians, like as Burna Boy and Sarkodie, has further shown his dedication to his work and ambition for success.
