Black Sherif makes runway debut at London fashion week
Ghanaian artist Black Sherif recently made his runway debut at the prestigious London Fashion Week, marking another exciting intersection between music and fashion.
This cross-collaboration between the two industries allows for a symbiotic relationship, leveraging each other’s influence, creativity, and reach to create unique and memorable experiences for fans and consumers alike. Notable African artists such as Davido, Odunsi, and Seun Kuti have previously graced the runway, and now it’s Black Sherif’s turn to shine.
Strutting down the catwalk for the British fashion label Labrum, Black Sherif showcased the brand’s latest collection. Labrum, established in 2014, is renowned for its opulent designs that aim to narrate the hidden narratives of West Africa. Through contemporary menswear, Labrum serves as a bridge between Western and West African cultures, with Founder and Creative Director Foday Dumbuya spearheading the distinguished collection.

Via its social media, the fashion house said, “Thank you to the people of LABRUM. We’re able to shine because you allow us to do so. Internally this collection shines a light on the journey from struggle to triumph. Acknowledging those that never lose sight of their vision or end-goal. AW24 utilizes this notion of resilience and joy as a source of inspiration. Celebrating this collective and transformative power of diverse cultures and their contributions to society, culture, and the arts”.
