Since his entrance into the industry, Wizkid has made some historical achievements in his music career that have put the nation on the map in international music scene map.
Ever since the release of his first album Superstar in 2011 and his subsequent status as a superstar, The Starboy, as he is affectionately known by the majority of his followers, has established a solid reputation for himself both domestically and internationally.
The father of three has succeeded in challenging the status quo and elevating Nigeria through the sale of sold-out international performances and nominations for and wins at international awards.

The following is a list of Wizkid’s top accomplishments in the international music scene;
The first Afrobeats artist to appear in the Guinness records
Wizkid is the first Afro-pop musician to be included into the Guinness Book of World Records. This comes as a result of his involvement in Drake’s worldwide hit song “One Dance,” which topped many charts.
Although the song is officially Drake’s single, Wizkid holds composition credits for the One Dance, which holds the Guinness World Record for the most played song on Spotify with over 1 billion streams.
The First Nigerian To Win An ASCAP Award
Wizkid is also the first Nigerian (if not African), to bag an international award from The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP).
The award was given to Wizkid in recognition of his role in the writing of Drake’s chart-topping hit single “One Dance”.
Youngest African Artiste to get a Grammy nomination
Big Wiz as he is also known by fans is also the youngest African artist to get nominated for a Grammy award Courtesy of the 2016 Drake album, Views.
He would later win a Grammy thanks to his feature on Beyonce’s Brown Skin Girl in 2021 but bag double nominations in 2022.
First African artiste to sell out London 02 Arena in 12 minutes and host a 3 days concert at the iconic location
The Nigerian sold out in a record-breaking 12 minutes, making him the fastest African artist to do so. The Wizkid FC were ecstatic with this incredible feat.
Due to demand, he added two extra days to the show and sold them out within minutes.
First Nigerian artiste to hit RIAA platinum certification
The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) awarded Wizkid with a certificate after discovering that his popular song with Tems Essence had sold a record-breaking 1 million copies.
It created a debate between his fans and Davido fans who claimed he was the first to achieve the achievement, but after several clarifications, it was revealed that Davido only went gold, i.e. he sold 500,000 copies rather than platinum.
