Jude Bellingham continues to follow in Cristiano Ronaldo’s footsteps with latest La Liga goal against Girona.
At Real Madrid, Jude Bellingham is continuing Cristiano Ronaldo’s legacy as the Englishman matches yet another goal record.
The 20-year-old midfielder arrived at Santiago Bernabeu from Borussia Dortmund for €103 million (£89 million/$108 million), and he has already had a significant impact. In his first four La Liga games, he had an immediate impact in Spanish football, finding the target five times.
Bellingham is keeping up with the pace set by Real’s all-time leading scorer, Portuguese superstar Ronaldo, who is the only other player to have accomplished that milestone. In the most recent game between Los Blancos and Girona, he scored once more.
Bellingham has scored six goals in as many games in the Spanish top division. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo achieved the same result in his first season with Real in 2009–2010. In the twenty-first century, no player has had a better record with the team.
When Ruud van Nistelrooy joined Real Madrid, he scored four goals out of seven, while Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema, and Brazilian icon Ronaldo all scored three. This season, Bellingham has also scored in the Champions League, giving him a total of seven attempts through eight games across all competitions.
