Nigerian music sensation Bella Shmurda has shed light on the motivation behind his annual Tension Rave event in Ibadan.
Teaming up with Wetalksound, Bella Shmurda offered fans a glimpse into the intricate workings of his signature concert series. The Tension Rave, a recurring highlight in Ibadan’s entertainment calendar, consistently draws in legions of enthusiastic supporters.
During the 2024 edition of the Tension Rave, Bella was the focus of a documentary produced by WeTalkSound. This documentary provided viewers with an intimate portrayal of his life, chronicling his rise to fame in the music industry, his journey as a parent, and his deep connection to the city of Ibadan.
In his interview, Bella Shmurda articulated his reasons for returning to Ibadan each year. He expressed gratitude to the city for its early support in his career, highlighting that it was in Ibadan where he held his inaugural headline show, an experience that significantly endeared the city to him.
He said, “I feel Lagos is saturated. We have people who are our supporters and we have to do it for them. That’s why I am here. For Ibadan people. They don’t get much of this. I want to bring entertainment to Ibadan. I want people to know Ibadan”
