Bella Shmurda Reflects on Mohbad’s Death, Says It Reset His Outlook on Life
Nigerian singer Akinbiyi Abiola Ahmed, better known as Bella Shmurda, has shared how the passing of his close friend, Mohbad, deeply affected his outlook on life.
Speaking in a recent livestream session with TikToker Joblaq, the 29-year-old artist admitted that Mohbad’s death reshaped his perspective, giving him a clearer understanding of life and its realities.
In his words:
“RIP Mohbad. After he passed away, my brain reset, and everything changed. The way I see things in life has also changed.
There’s a time that our parents used to tell us when we misbehave that, ‘You’re misbehaving, right? Don’t worry, very soon you will understand.’ I’m currently in that phase where I’m starting to understand. I have understood certain things.”

Mohbad tragically passed away on September 12, 2023, under circumstances that remain unclear.
Bella noted that the loss has brought him closer to the lessons his parents instilled in him, offering him a sobering clarity he didn’t have before.
