Bella Shmurda opens up on his bad record deal, advises upcoming artists on how to deal with record labels.
Akinbiyi Abiola Ahmed, better known by his stage name Bella Shmurda, has said that he requested a law student to look over the documentation for his first record deal.
He was previously signed to One World Global Records, and Bella was still a student who could not afford to employ a lawyer at the time.
According to the singer, he enlisted the help of a 300-level law student to help him go through the fine print of his record deal, but he did not realise the student was completely uneducated about how to handle the situation.
According to Bella Shmurda, he used to smoke marijuana with the man in school and frequently saw him dressed in the traditional black and white costume used by law students. As a result, he called the man because of their previous marijuana-smoking relationship.
