Bayern Munich announce the loan signing of Joao Cancelo from Manchester City with €70m buy option.
Bayern Munich have announced and completed the signing of Joao Cancelo from Manchester City on an initial loan deal until the end of the season with a €70 million buy option.
The Portugal full-back, who has recently been regarded as one of the best in the world at his position, was reportedly given permission to leave City on Monday after expressing a wish to do so.
This gave Bayern Munich the opportunity to strike, and he quickly flew to Germany to undertake a medical with the league champions.
On deadline day, Bayern announced Cancelo’s loan move; they still have the option to make it permanent in the summer.
