Barcelona confirm Sergio Busquets to leave at end of season.
Barcelona have confirmed club captain Sergio Busquets will leave at the end of the 2022/23 season.
Busquets has remained one of Barça’s most reliable players at the age of 34, and this weekend against city rivals Espanyol, they have a chance to win their first La Liga title.
Busquets will leave the club this summer, Barcelona said on Wednesday morning, thus this title will be his final for the organization.
“It has been an honour, a draw and a source of pride to have been able to wear this badge but everything must come to an end,” Busquets told club channels.
“It hasn’t been an easy decision but the time has come. Thank you to all those people who have accompanied me on this journey, as well as [club] members and fans.”

Although Inter Miami of Major League Soccer is reportedly interested in signing Busquets to a hefty contract, it seems more probable that he will sign with a team in Saudi Arabia.
Only former colleagues Lionel Messi and Xavi have more appearances for Barcelona (719) than Busquets.
If Barça wins La Liga, he would have amassed an incredible 32 major victories for his old team.
Busquets‘ final match at Camp Nou will be against Mallorca on May 28. On June 4, he will play his final match for Barcelona away at Celta Vigo.
