Banky W urges Federal Government to make NYSC optional.

The singer made this known in an interview with Channels TV.
Nigerian singer, actor, entrepreneur and politician, Bankole Wellington, popularly known as Banky W, wants the Federal Government of Nigeria to make NYSC optional.
The singer feels that the post-university program is not meeting its objectives.
In an interview with Channels TV, the musician, who is running for the federal house of representatives for the second time, stated that the National Youth Service Corps, a mandated program for Nigerian graduates to engage in nation-building and development, is no longer serving its purpose.

According to Banky W, most graduates these days are not interested in the program and, therefore, bribe officials in order not to participate.
The singer thinks that it is beneficial to make it optional for those who are interested in it in order to save government resources that could be better used for other social advancements.
