Banky W speaks out about his most recent defeat in the general elections in Nigeria.
Bankole Wellington, also known as Banky W, has spoken out about his recent loss in the Nigerian general elections.
In the 2023 general elections, the EME CEO, who represented the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), lost the seat in the federal house of representatives for the Eti-Osa constituency to Labour Party candidate Attah.
With 24,075 votes, Attah defeated his rivals Mr. Olubankole Wellington (Banky W) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who received 18,666 votes, and Mr. Babjide Obanikoro of the APC, who received 16,901 votes.
Banky W, who received overwhelming support from his industry peers in the wake of the loss, uploaded a motivational video on Instagram on March 6th, 2023, stating that the loss has no impact on him and that he is instead grateful to God.
When speaking to a church congregation in a video posted to his page, Banky W said that if he had won the House of Representatives election, the service would be full of necessary thanksgiving and praise to God.
Banky stated that if everything had gone as planned, he would have travelled to Abuja to find a flat and an office space.
The politician acknowledged that, despite his defeat, his faith in God had assisted him in moving forward and that he had submitted to God’s plan.
