Popular Nigerian singer and songwriter Ayra Starr has revealed her desire to collaborate with Grammy Award–winning superstar Burna Boy.

The “Commas” crooner made this known during a recent interview with Billboard, held ahead of the 68th Grammy Awards, scheduled for Sunday, February 1, 2026.
When asked which artist she would love to work with among the nominees for Best African Music Performance, Ayra Starr did not hesitate to mention Burna Boy.
“Everybody knows Burna Boy is my number one person I want to collaborate with,” she said confidently.
Reacting to her response, the interviewer teased the possibility of a future collaboration, saying, “We should be expecting Burna Boy and Ayra!”
To this, the singer replied with excitement:
“Amen, it is my prayer for real.”
Ayra Starr is nominated at the 2026 Grammys for her song “Gimme Dat” featuring Wizkid, competing in the same category as Davido and Omah Lay’s “With You” and Burna Boy’s “Love.”
She further noted that she has already worked with some of the artistes in the category and hopes to eventually collaborate with all of them. The singer already boasts notable collaborations with Wizkid and Asake, and fans are now eagerly anticipating a potential Burna Boy partnership.
With her growing global presence and continued Grammy recognition, Ayra Starr’s wish could soon become one of Afrobeats’ most anticipated collaborations.
