I had my most unserious studio session working on ‘Sability’ – Ayra Starr
Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, better known by her stage as Ayra Starr, has admitted that her studio session for her most recent single, “Sability” was her most unserious one.
During a recent journey to Kenya, Ayra Starr revealed this when being interviewed there. It was, in The Mavin Princess’ words, her most “unserious studio session.”
Yet, she went on to say that the inspiration for “Sability” came from her desire to write songs that everyone in the world could identify with and that she had grown up listening to at birthday parties.
The ‘Rush‘ singer also said that she graduated from university at the age of 18 and that her music career did not begin until the same age because her mother insisted on her first getting a degree.

She said that after every phrase, she literally dropped to the floor to laugh her heart out due to the song’s lyrics, which were more hilarious than serious.
The 20-year-old songstress in an interview with ‘Nairobi New‘ said: “‘Sability’ was one of my funniest studio sessions ever. It was too funny that after every line, we will just be on the ground laughing because it was so so funny.
“It was the most unserious studio session. I was happy to do something new. I wanted to do something new.
“I remember saying last year that I wanted to make music I grew up listening to. Music that played at birthday parties. You know all those big African music that every country can listen to, even foreign countries.
“So, that was what I wanted to do. And I ended up doing that with ‘Sability’.
