Ayra Starr Reveals Why She Writes Well On The Plane
Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, better known as Ayra Starr, discusses her songwriting inspirations and revealed that she writes best on a plane in an interview that has surfaced online.
The singer stated during a ‘Sability’ meet and greet with her fans alongside radio personality Superdave that she writes so effectively while on the plane.
This comes after the journalist questioned Ayra Starr about the inspiration behind her songs and the things that inspire her as she is creating them.
According to Ayra Starr, her songwriting talents develop each time and she writes so effectively on the plane.
Shedding more light on it, Ayra Starr said that when she finds herself on a plane, she always feels like she is inside the sky and she feels so small and very humble.
“My writing process is at different times. I write on the plane, I write so well when I’m on the plane.
“Because it’s just like me and I’m in the sky. It just gives me a new perspective.
“It makes me feel very small; I feel very humble when I write on the plane,” Ayra Starr said.
The ‘Sability’ singer also revealed that she collaborates well with her brother and they wrote the song ‘Beggie Beggie’, which features CKay on a bus to Sangotedo, a town in Lagos.
“I write well with my brother also. We wrote ‘Beggie Beggie’ on the bus. Literally on a bus to Sangotedo.
“This beggar came to knock on the door and somebody in the back was like ‘Bambiala’.”
The singer of the hit song “Rush,” Ayra Starr, remarked that she used to write best while on a mission.
Ayra Starr continued by stating that her goal as a songwriter is to create music that will empower her because she was depressed when she wrote Bloody Samaritan.
The Mavin Female artist stated that she wrote off her experience in life and how she feels at the moment.
In the meantime, Tems, Ayra Starr, Asisat Oshoala, Blessing Abeng, and Khloe Abiri were among the seven Nigerians listed on Forbes Africa’s “30 Under 30” list.
Forbes Africa has published its annual edition of 30 Under 30, a prestigious collection that celebrates the achievements of outstanding young businesspeople, innovators, and leaders who are under the age of 30.
The list, headlined “The Newest Self-Made Young Innovators and Leaders Writing a New Vision for Africa,” features 30 dynamic and versatile people who are driving Africa’s development in their own special ways.
The list contains 11 South Africans, two Rwandans, Tanzanians and Ghanaians each, and one each from Botswana, Namibia, Cameroon, Lesotho, Mauritius and Kenya.
