Ayra Starr reaches 2 billion Spotify streams
Nigerian superstar Ayra Starr has achieved a significant milestone, surpassing 2 billion streams on Spotify.
According to the data platform Kworb, as of October 10, 2024, she has amassed just over 2 billion streams. This achievement follows the success of her sophomore album, ‘The Year I Turned 21,’ which has already exceeded 500 million Spotify streams.
Ayra Starr also boasts two songs with over 400 million streams: Rvssian’s “Santa,” on which she features, has gathered over 455 million streams, while her hit single “Rush” has accumulated over 409 million streams.
Additionally, her collaboration on Libianca’s “People,” featuring Omah Lay, has reached 106 million streams, and her popular track “Bloody Samaritan” has amassed 82 million streams.
With this accomplishment, Ayra Starr joins a select group of Nigerian artists, including Wizkid, Burna Boy, Rema, CKay, Tems, and Davido, who have surpassed 2 billion Spotify streams.
2024 has been a breakthrough year for Ayra, as she has earned four nominations at the upcoming MTV EMAs, competing for Best New Artist, Best African Act, Best Afrobeats Act, and Best Push.
The singer has also hinted at a deluxe version of ‘The Year I Turned 21,’ which continues to enjoy commercial success.
