Fast-rising Afrobeats artist Ayo Maff is basking in the spotlight as his debut album, Prince of the Street, surges to No. 1 on the Apple Music Top Albums chart in Nigeria, a career-defining milestone for the emerging street-pop sensation.

The 13-track project, which offers a fusion of street narratives, emotional storytelling, and genre-blending melodies, now sits just behind industry heavyweight Olamide, whose latest self-titled album holds the top position.
Taking to social media with humour and humility, Ayo Maff made a lighthearted request to the YBNL boss via X (formerly Twitter), writing: “Baddo abeg commot for that number one small make I screenshot.”
Olamide, known for supporting younger artists, responded with a warm “Congrats, bro,” drawing praise from fans for his continued mentorship in the industry.

But the chart triumph didn’t stop in Nigeria. Prince of the Street has made impressive entries across West Africa, peaking at No. 5 in Gambia, No. 8 in Benin, and No. 14 in Malawi.
The album also made an international impression, securing No. 96 in the United States and No. 100 in the United Kingdom on Apple Music’s charts, evidence of Ayo Maff’s fast-growing global reach.
For a debut project to break into Nigeria’s ultra-competitive top three is no small feat. It confirms Ayo Maff’s rising star status, thanks to his raw yet relatable songwriting, street-rooted authenticity, and genre-fluid sound.
As fans continue to rally behind the breakout star, industry watchers suggest that Ayo Maff could be one of the most exciting new voices to lead Nigeria’s next wave of global musical exports, from Bariga to the world.
“Mummy I did it again😢😢 in just one day mummy, after everything we went through look at your boy now, daddy would have been so proud 🙂
