Aston Villa is delighted to announce the signing of Spanish international Pau Torres from Villarreal
The centre defender, who won the Europa League with the Yellow Submarine back in 2021, will reconnect with Unai Emery in the West Midlands.
The transfer is subject to international clearance and a successful visa application.
After securing an unexpected position in the Conference League for the upcoming season, Villa has been searching for team reinforcements.
They have now officially announced Torres as their second signing of the summer, following the free transfer of Youri Tielemans from Leicester City.

Aymeric Laporte of Manchester City and Fernando Torres were both targets for Villa, according to the initial reports at the beginning of June.
Negotiations progressed over the ensuing weeks, and on the last day of the month, a deal was made, allowing the Spain international to travel for a medical.
Following his return from his honeymoon, Torres’ move was officially announced on Wednesday.
Villa has additional ambitions to sign a winger during this transfer window, but they have been unsuccessful in getting Nico Williams from Athletic Club and are having trouble convincing Ferran Torres to leave Barcelona.
