I’m classy – Asake tells critics
Nigerian Afrobeats artist Ahmed Ololade, better known as Asake, has confidently addressed criticisms about his style, music, and fashion sense. On Twitter on Monday, the ‘Peace Be Unto You‘ singer asserted his classiness in response to detractors.
This declaration followed the online ridicule he faced, including mockery over his loss at the Grammys. One incident involved a fan sharing a stylish photo of Asake sporting a white long-sleeve shirt tucked into black trousers.
According to Mp3bullet, South African singer Tyla’s track ‘Water‘ won the Best African Music Performance Grammy, surpassing contenders like Davido’s ‘Unavailable,’ Asake’s ‘Amapiano,’ Burna Boy’s ‘City Boys,’ and Ayra Starr’s ‘Rush.’
Critics labeled Asake as ‘razz‘ and attributed his Grammy loss to his predominantly Yoruba-language singing style. Responding to these remarks, Asake shared a picture of himself on the 66th Grammy red carpet, affirming his classiness.
“I’m classy joor”, he wrote.
