Asake discusses how he once paid outrageous sums and was exploited without being appreciated.
Nigerian singer, Asake has opened up on his days of small beginnings and how he used to be paid ridiculous amounts to perform at shows.
The singer was interviewed by PUNCHng where he opened up on his rise to fame and the sacrifices he had to make to get to where he is.
When asked about how he met Olamide and got signed to YBNL, the “Sungba” crooner revealed that signing with YBNL was a miracle.
According to him, one of his friends, Yemolee, played hid songs for Olamide to listen to.
Baddo liked ‘Omo ope’ and they did the remix together. After the song and video were released, Olamide invited him to his house and casually asked if he would love to join the label.
Asake recounting the experience said he was blown away with excitement and took the deal as fast as it came. He also stated it remains one of the best decisions he has ever made.
He stated that before clinching a recording deal with YBNL, his music career was unstable and he used to get paid ridiculous amounts and be used without appreciation.
Asake revealed that he did get discouraged at some point and would have either gone to London or Paris to start modelling if music didn’t work for him.

The “Omo Ope” crooner revealed that he the lowest he was ever paid for a show was N20,000 for a show in Akure and he still went with six dancers.
Speaking on the pain and sacrifice he has made to make fans happy, he said he works constantly, prays harder and hasn’t partied since he got signed.
