Asake breaks his silence amidst reports of him abandoning his alleged father

Award-winning Afrobeats singer Asake, born Ahmed Ololade, has shared his first words following viral claims that he abandoned his alleged father, Fatai Odunsi, who says he has been battling a stroke since March 2022.
In the widely circulated video, Odunsi claimed that Asake had not been in contact with him since 2022 and that his calls had gone unanswered. His emotional plea sparked mixed reactions from fans, with some calling for the singer to address the situation.
In what many believe to be a subtle response, Asake posted a video of himself singing a deep Yoruba song with lyrics that seemed to address the controversy.
“You can’t satisfy the world. Anything you do, make sure you do it for God and remember the day we all die. Are you not seeing how it is all happening? Even my father wants to bring me down, but I stand and I am fit. You can’t turn off my light…”
The song has fueled further speculation, with fans interpreting it as a refusal to be dragged down by the allegations. Asake has not released an official statement, but the cryptic response has added to the ongoing public debate.
