Popular Nigerian singer Ahmed Ololade, widely known as Asake, has reportedly begun supporting his alleged father, Fatai Odunsi, following widespread criticism over claims of neglect.

Weeks ago, Odunsi made headlines after publicly pleading for financial assistance due to his deteriorating health. In a viral video, he expressed disappointment over Asake’s absence from his life, alleging that the singer had not reached out in a long time.

Adding to the controversy, a woman claiming to be Odunsi’s baby mama also spoke out, shedding light on their past and the family’s struggles.

However, in a recent interview with online personality Mr. Lilgaga, Odunsi revealed that he is no longer upset with Asake, stating that the singer has now taken steps to support him.

According to him, Asake has begun covering his medical expenses and has directed his team to secure him a house. He also claimed that the singer has promised to take responsibility for his supposed abandoned daughter.

During the interview, Mr. Lilgaga questioned Odunsi about his role in Asake’s upbringing, asking if he had been a responsible father.

In response, Odunsi defended himself, insisting that he did his best and that no one could claim otherwise. Residents of Isale Eko, where Odunsi resides, reportedly corroborated his statement, affirming that he played a role in raising the singer.

Asake, who has remained mostly silent on the matter, recently shared a freestyle video on social media where he sang in Yoruba, seemingly addressing the controversy. In the clip, he expressed, “You can’t satisfy the world. Anything you do, make sure you do it for God and remember the day we all die. Are you not seeing how it is all happening? Even my father wants to bring me down, but I stand and I am fit. You can’t turn off my light…”

The emotional lyrics have since sparked mixed reactions, with many interpreting them as a subtle response to the ongoing family drama.

While some fans believe Asake is setting boundaries, others continue to call for reconciliation between the singer and his alleged father.
