Nigerian superstar Asake has made a spectacular return to his alma mater, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) in Ile-Ife, Osun State, sparking a buzz across social media.

In a viral clip, the Dramatic Arts graduate, who once commuted to campus by taxi, touched down in a helicopter, immediately impressing students and staff alike.

Upon arrival, he was formally welcomed by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adebayo Simeon Bamire, along with his close associate, Yhemolee, and actor Lala. The singer also toured the campus with his mother and prostrated to greet students, honoring the university’s traditional culture.

Adding to the memorable visit, Asakeshowcased his drumming skills and was later seen stepping out with one of his female lecturers, creating an unforgettable day for both fans and the OAU community.

In a revealing interview with Office Magazine for its December issue, the ‘Lungu Boy’ hitmaker reflected on his unlikely journey into music, admitting that it was never part of his original plan.

“I didn’t want to do music at first,” Asake shared. “I found myself around a lot of things around music. My mom, she loves so much good music. My dad is deep into music. So unknowingly, I have it in me already. That was not my priority when I was young,

I wanted to be a dancer or a choreographer. But I think when I went to university in 2013, I ended up being around friends that do music too. Then you end up making a song. Then the whole school went crazy on the song.”
