Asake has made history by reaching 50 entries on the Billboard Afrobeats chart. The Nigerian singer-songwriter’s rapid rise in the music industry has achieved a new milestone with this unprecedented accomplishment.
On August 9, 2024, Asake released his third album, “Lungu Boy,” which features collaborations with stars such as Grammy-winning Nigerian artist Wizkid, British rappers Central Cee and Stormzy, American superstar Travis Scott, and Brazilian singer Ludmila.
In the chart week of August 24, 2024, “Lungu Boy” saw nine of its tracks debut on the Billboard Afrobeats Songs chart. Notably, the collaboration with Travis Scott, ‘Active,’ climbed 7 spots to No. 1, while ‘MMS‘ featuring Wizkid entered at No. 7. Other debuting tracks include ‘Mood‘ at No. 12, ‘Fuji Vibes‘ at No. 14, and ‘Suru‘ featuring Stormzy at No. 16.
Additionally, ‘Worldwide‘ debuted at No. 18, ‘Mentally‘ at No. 20, ‘Skating‘ at No. 22, and both ‘I Swear‘ and ‘Ligali‘ entered at No. 25.

With these nine new entries, Asake reaches his 50th spot on the Billboard Afrobeats Songs Chart, surpassing Burna Boy to become the artist with the most entries in the chart’s history.
“Lungu Boy” has also achieved notable commercial success. The album matched the record for the highest-charting Nigerian album on the Apple Music US chart, a record previously held by Burna Boy’s “I Told Them” and Davido’s “Timeless.”
Furthermore, “Lungu Boy” reached No. 1 on the Apple Music UK Chart, making it Asake’s third album to achieve this milestone, following his debut album “Mr. Money With The Vibe” and his sophomore album “Work of Art.”
