Nigerian Afrobeats star Asake recently paid a courtesy visit to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde Ogunwusi, at his palace in Ile Oodua, accompanied by his mother, Lala, and Yhemo Lee.
A video from the visit shows the Ooni enjoying Asake’s performance, swaying to his hits and applauding the singer, while Asake prostrated before the monarch, showing deep respect for Yoruba tradition and heritage.
During the lively session, Asake performed fan favorites such as “Lonely At The Top” and “Palazzo,” with DJ Spinall joining in to boost the energy.
Other youths present at the palace were seen singing along, creating a vibrant and celebratory atmosphere.
The visit follows Asake’s grand return to his alma mater, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), after spending significant time in California, USA.
Asake is now gearing up for his Flytime Fest 2025 show on December 24th at Eko Convention Centre. Tickets are priced at ₦300,000 per head, and the event is already sold out, highlighting his massive popularity.
