Asake retains crown as he’s declared the best-selling artist of 2024
Asake solidifies his dominance as Nigeria’s top artist of 2024. The Grammy-nominated superstar has been crowned the best-selling artist in Nigeria for the year, marking his third consecutive time achieving this milestone—a record-breaking feat.
According to TurnTable, Nigeria’s premier music chart publication, Asake led across all platforms, including streaming, TV, and radio, further cementing his status as a powerhouse in the music industry.
In 2024, all of Asake’s projects, including his albums ‘Mr. Money With The Vibe (MMWTV),‘ ‘Work of Art,’ and his latest release ‘Lungu Boy,‘ achieved remarkable success. ‘Lungu Boy’ spent an impressive 15 weeks at No. 1 on the Official Top 100 Albums chart, finishing as the best-selling album of the year despite being released in August.
Asake’s influence extended beyond album sales. He was also the No. 1 radio artist for the second consecutive year and earned the highest total chart points on the Official Nigeria Top 100 chart.
His hit single “MMS,” featuring Wizkid and included in ‘Lungu Boy,‘ dominated the charts, becoming the Year-End No. 1 Afro-R&B song. It debuted at No. 1 on the Official Nigeria Top 100 chart, maintaining its position for three weeks.
On Apple Music, Asake reigned supreme as the No. 1 artist of the year, with ‘Lungu Boy‘ finishing as the top album. The album also topped Audiomack’s charts and secured Asake’s position as YouTube’s most-watched artist in Nigeria for 2024.
