Asake gets BRIT Silver plaque for ‘Work of Art’
On September 22, 2024, Nigerian artist Asake received a BRIT silver plaque for his sophomore album “Work Of Art” during his sold-out concert at the O2 Arena.
After releasing his third album “Lungu Boy” Asake embarked on a world tour, headlining major venues, including the iconic O2 Arena.
At the sold-out show, Asake thrilled fans with performances of his hit songs. Among the notable attendees were Grammy winner Wizkid and actor Idris Elba, who presented Asake with both a sold-out plaque and a BRIT silver plaque for “Work Of Art.”
Asake has experienced immense success in the United Kingdom, with all three of his albums topping the UK Apple Music Album Chart, making him the only Nigerian artist to achieve this milestone.
His recent sold-out concert at the O2 Arena further cements his growing popularity in the UK. With this accomplishment, he joins Afrobeats stars Davido and Wizkid as the few Nigerians to have sold out the O2 Arena multiple times.

The O2 Arena has played a key role in the global rise of Afrobeats. In 2018, Davido became the first Nigerian solo artist to headline the venue, followed by Wizkid, who headlined in 2019 and achieved a historic three consecutive sold-out shows in 2021.
