Asa reacts to claims of voter intimidation in Lagos, says tribalism is disgusting.
Veteran singer Bukola Elemide, professionally known as Asa has reacted to reports of violence and tribalism that took place during the presidential and national assembly elections in some communities of Lagos State.
The numerous reports of attacks on voters have gotten people questioning the credibility of INEC’s results.
There have been claims that thugs messed with the actual election on February 25 2023, by destroying ballots and even seizing people’s phones to prevent them from recording.
Remember that there have been several internet comments that are tribal and discriminatory during the voting process. Some internet posts also made the assertion that some voters had experienced physical assault at various polling locations.

A video of a man openly telling people to leave if they don’t plan to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) was also put online, and it went viral.
The singer said that her vote yesterday was calm in response to the countless depressing stories that are currently dominating the media. Nonetheless, Asa emphasized that she is grieved as a result of the assaults in Lagos. Tribalism is awful, she added.
She wrote:
“I arrived my polling station at 6h30 yesterday, voted at 13h45 peacefully. Saddened that people were attacked around Lagos! Tribalism is disgusting,”

In addition, Many have begun to doubt the validity of INEC’s outcome, which is set to be announced at 11 a.m. today, in light of the numerous allegations of attacks on voters.
