Iconic sensation, Asa delivers a glimpse of the nightlife moments of the streets of Ghana on her ‘Mayana‘ music video.
The internationally acclaimed Nigerian music diva Asa has always made her own path with her trailblazing sounds and songwriting, influenced by a wide range of musical and creative influences.
Speaking about her new song, ‘Mayana’, Asa said; ‘Usually, when I write a song, I would make melodies with bits of words here and there. Mayana stuck. I didn’t know what it meant. The usual thing I’d do is look for another word. I knew I wanted it to mean something good to this person I am singing to, like his forever. So, I googled the word and voila! It means ‘Healer, tomorrow.”

Transiting in a flow of pop rhythm, Asa modulates in a ballad sensation, giving that iconic moment when she released her 2007 “No One Knows” tune.
The visuals, which capture the perfect aesthetics of the Accra street nightlife in Ghana, were directed by ace Nigerian cinematographer Meji Alabi for JM Films Production.
