Brazilian professional footballer Antony Matheus dos Santos, simply known as Antony, has set a new Brazilian Premier League record during his second match for Manchester United.

There was a bit of good news for Manchester United supporters despite a defeat against their noisy neighbours, Manchester City.

The Red Devils forward player, Antony wrote his name in the history books of the Premier League. He became the first Brazilian since Robinho to score in his first two Premier League appearances.

In September 2008, Robinho scored for the Cityzens while Antony scored against Manchester City and Arsenal.

In their matchup with the Premier League Champions, Manchester United was defeated 6-3. Since Ten Hag became the Red Devils’ coach, this defeat ranks as his second worst.

With 20 points after the result, Manchester City is now one point behind league-leading Arsenal in the Premier League standings. On the other hand, Manchester United dropped to sixth place in the standings with 12 points.
