Mashata Mabuse’s Memorial and Tribute Concert Details Announced
The passing of DJ Peter ‘Mashata’ Mabuse, tragically murdered in Soshanguve, has left a profound impact on the music community. To honour his legacy, plans for memorial and funeral services have been revealed.
Renowned for his talent and contributions to the industry, DJ Peter ‘Mashata‘ Mabuse will be remembered through a series of events. A memorial service is scheduled for Thursday, April 25th, at the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) Pretoria West Campus from 14:00 to 18:00.
Following the memorial, an evening tribute concert will be held at Emperors Palace, organized by Paul Mtirara, Wilson B Nkosi, DJ Young, and Mashabela. Proceeds from the concert will support the Mabuse family during this difficult time.
Additionally, those wishing to pay respects can leave flowers at the Mabuse family home in Block U, Mabopane, on Saturday, April 27th, from 14:00 to 17:00. The funeral service will take place the next day, April 28th, at the Akasia Community Hall, starting at 08:00.
Rebecca Mabuse, Mashata’s mother, passionately advocates for justice in an interview with SABC News, emphasizing the need to bring closure to this tragic loss.
“It’s still a question mark to me that he is not gone, maybe he’s around. It is so painful,” she said, before calling for justice.
“Let it not just be interviews, let it not a visit of the premier to my house or the councillor to my house. Let it be that justice is served.”
