Jury awards Cardi B $1.25 million
American rapper and songwriter Cardi B has won a defamation lawsuit against YouTuber LaTasha Kebe for her ‘herps and prostitution’ allegations against the rapper.
Cardi B sued the blogger for defamation, invasion of privacy, and intentional cause of emotional distress after she falsely claimed to have herpes, use cocaine, and work as a prostitute.
According to Billboard, after two weeks of deliberation, a Georgia jury awarded Cardi $1.25 million in damages and convicted the YouTuber of invasion of privacy by false depiction.
In 2019, the 29-year-old rapper hauled Kebe to court over dozens of videos showing the rapper “f–king herself with beer bottles” onstage while working as a stripper.

The mother of two who appeared in court last week testified that she felt “extremely suicidal” over Kebe’s statement.
She said:
“I felt defeated and depressed and I didn’t want to sleep with my husband,Only an evil person could do that s–t,”
In response to the verdict, Kebe tweeted: “My Husband, Attorney’s [sic], & I fought really hard. I want to thank them for their long hours and sleepless nights … it’s only up from here.”
