Amad displays support for Greenwood on his Gefate debut
Amad Diallo, a Manchester United winger, publicly expressed his support for Mason Greenwood during Greenwood’s debut for Getafe in La Liga.
Greenwood, who is on loan at Getafe, made his first appearance in Spanish football as a substitute in the 77th minute during a match against Osasuna, which Getafe won 3-2.
During the game, some Osasuna fans reportedly chanted offensive remarks directed at Greenwood, and La Liga is said to be investigating this incident.
Amad Diallo, showing his solidarity with his Manchester United teammate, took to Instagram to share a video of Greenwood’s introduction into the match and captioned it with two heart emojis.
Greenwood’s loan move to Getafe came after a period of suspension by Manchester United in January 2022, following his arrest on suspicion of attempted rape, assault, and coercive control. Those charges were subsequently dropped in February. After a six-month internal investigation, Manchester United allowed Greenwood to go on loan to Getafe for the 2023-24 season.
