AKA and Tibz Murder Case: Suspects Seek Bail, Court Appearance Update
The individuals implicated in the murder case involving AKA and Tibz are scheduled to return to court on March 6th for a formal bail request.
During the proceedings at the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, February 29th, the five suspects expressed their intention to seek bail, as reported by ECR.
Identified as Lindokuhle Mkhwanazi, Eddie Myeza, Lindani Ndimande, and Mziwethemba Gwabeni, these individuals are accused of the murder of the late rapper AKA, whose real name is Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, and Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane on February 10th in Durban.
Appearing in court for the first time since the tragic incident on Florida Road over a year ago, the accused are facing a total of 10 charges, including conspiracy to commit murder, two counts of murder, attempted murder, unlawful possession of firearms, and ammunition.
The accused arrived in court masked and hooded in an attempt to conceal their identities, citing potential public victimization. They have secured private legal representation, with their attorneys arguing that the accused remain unconvicted and could face prejudice if their identities are disclosed.
Amidst this piece of information, one of the accused has raised concerns about mistreatment while in custody, as reported by The Citizen. The murder case has been adjourned until March 6th, prompting diverse reactions among social media users upon learning of the possibility of bail being granted next month.
