For artists, the road to success is a long one with many ups and downs; it requires a lot of will, devotion, and a little luck to move from being unknown to being successful.

The duo admitted in a recent interview with media personality Adesope for his Afrobeats Podcast that they struggled at the beginning of their careers and had to share a space with pals in Lagos while they sought fame.
“We squatted with K-Switch in 2016. I’m not playing. 2017 nothing was popping. It was 2018, we were still trying to push and then we made a record in 2019 with King Perry. I think we were squatting somewhere then.”
Ajebo Hustlers noted that because of their challenges, friends even suggested that they give up music.
“That time we were squatting because the music was not working and you now have friends that are telling you, omo, thus music is not working, you sure say you try enter street.”
They also discussed how the massive single “Killing Dem” by Burna Boy & Zlatan inspired their first big success, “Barawo.”
“After we made the record we were very excited and we thought it would be great to have Zlatan on the song because it was inspired by the beat of ‘Killing Dem’ “.
They also recounted their joy when they learned Olamide had shared their song and how that moment catapulted them to greater prominence.
Ajebo Hustlers have continued to offer their own music, which has acquired popularity among fans, since their mainstream debut.
