Asake, the stage name of Ahmed Ololade Asake, recalled how Olamide became aware of him and welcomed him into the YBNL family.
He claimed that it took years of commitment to fulfil his heart’s goal before he was signed to Olamide’s YBNL nation.
Asake said in an interview with Cool FM that he has been texting Olamide since 2020 but that the label head has not responded to any of his texts.
The “Sungba” hitmaker claimed that he frequently slipped into Olamide’s direct message to ask for assistance and to remind him of the ways in which he had supported his pals, including Fireboy.
He added that sadly, all that didn’t work out at the time, but his dream turned to reality with the release of his smash hit, ‘Omo Ope’.
On how he met Olamide, Asake said the rap artiste put a call across to him and asked for a meeting only for him to reach there and get asked to join the YBNL family.
