Afua Asantewaa Reveals Shocking Reason Behind Guinness World Record Disqualification

Afua Asantewaa has unveiled the surprising cause behind her disqualification from the Guinness World Record attempt. According to Asantewaa, the infamous “Dumsor” phenomenon might be the key factor behind her unsuccessful bid.

During an interview on United Showbiz, the sing-a-thon participant shared that a plant was initially provided before her performance, but it was abruptly removed once she began. Asantewaa explained that, despite a well-meaning individual offering a replacement plant, frequent power outages disrupted the stability of the setup.

She detailed instances of lights going on and off throughout her attempt, highlighting a particular moment when the power outage lasted for about an hour.

Asantewaa emphasized that her management team would provide additional insights, as she was engrossed in her sing-a-thon endeavour during these critical moments.

“At Akwaaba village there was a plant, but it was taken away. But we had someone who sponsored us with a generator. The motive of this attempt was not to give up. Let me establish a point…Even when my voice went off I could have stopped,” she said.

“As human as I am, I felt it but there are two sides to it. When I even lost my voice…It got to a point where my voice went off and I couldn’t talk at all. With that, I took more than five five-minute breaks, that was the first one I encountered. However, what I know is that regardless of the challenge, finish the attempt. Even those who entered the box…
