Afro Nation cancels 2023 Lagos festival.

The organizers of Afro Nation have delivered disappointing news, as they have officially announced the cancellation of the highly anticipated festival in Lagos, originally slated for December 2023.

Afronation, a festival celebrating the vibrant sounds of afrobeat and set to make its inaugural debut in Lagos, Nigeria, has cancelled its grand entrance.

Regrettably, it appears that fans in Lagos will need to exercise a bit more patience before they can relish the Afro-Nation festival experience. In an official statement released on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, the event organizers confirmed the unfortunate cancellation of the shows initially planned for December 2023.

The statement elucidated that the festival prides itself on maintaining high standards to ensure an unforgettable experience for fans. However, it was expressed that these standards could not be met in Lagos at this time, and as a result, the festival will not take place as originally scheduled.

On October 31, 2023, the organizers of the highly anticipated Afro Nation Festival made a disheartening announcement through social media. They expressed their collective disappointment in revealing the cancellation of what was poised to be the biggest Afrobeats festival in Lagos, Nigeria.

The decision to cancel the event has left countless music enthusiasts and fans throughout Nigeria deeply let down. The primary reason cited for this decision was the inability to currently deliver an event of the quality that Nigeria truly deserves.

It has previously been hosted in various countries, including Portugal, Ghana, Miami, and Detroit. The Lagos, Nigeria, edition of the festival was especially significant as it marked a kind of homecoming to the birthplace of Afrobeats. The now-canceled event promised a two-day extravaganza filled with musical performances by prominent artists like Burna Boy, J Hus, Seyi Vibez, and Black Sherif.

The event organizers conveyed their sentiments through a press release on social media, stating, “Afro Nation Nigeria 2023 – Cancellation Information. As disappointed as we are that we won’t be coming to Lagos this year, we want our homecoming show to be up to the standards you deserve. We’ll be back soon, bigger and better!”

The organizers also assured those who had previously purchased tickets that they would be refunded. Despite the setback, Afro Nation pledged to continue its efforts to bring an exceptional Afro Nation experience to Lagos in the future.
