Aaron Ramsdale signs new long-term Arsenal contract.
Arsenal have announced Aaron Ramsdale has signed a new long-term contract with the club.
The England international joined the Gunners from Sheffield United two years ago, and during his 76 appearances in all competitions for the north London club, he has developed into one of the Premier League’s best goalkeepers.
Ramsdale has been in negotiations with Arsenal about extending his contract, and the club has now announced that the deal is done. We had previously reported that Ramsdale hoped to reach a resolution by the end of May.
Ramsdale’s new Arsenal contract will run until 2026, with the option of an extra year, and he told the club’s website: “It’s a huge amount of pride, it’s something you work for. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been at the club for a month or for four years, you always want to get the next one and push on with the team.
“To get it after two years, I’m buzzing. It just means I can concentrate and keep my head down, and hopefully after a few more years I’ll get another one and carry on living the dream at the football club.”
Manager Mikel Arteta said: “We’re all so happy that Aaron has signed a new contract. The way Aaron has developed over the past two years has been exceptional, with his performances, contribution and overall adaptation to the club.
“It’s great that we’re continuing to build our future with our biggest talents in our young squad. We’re all looking forward to enjoying many more years of Aaron the player and the person at the football club.”

Upon his arrival, Ramsdale swiftly replaced Bernd Leno as the team’s starting goalkeeper. Ramsdale was a crucial component of Arsenal’s title-winning campaign this year, making spectacular saves frequently and amassing 13 Premier League clean sheets thus far.
Alongside budding talents in the making like Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, and Gabriel Martinelli, he has advanced quickly at Arsenal.
According to reports, a new contract for Saka will be announced soon, and discussions with Odegaard will also start soon. Granit Xhaka, a midfielder, is anticipated to leave, though, since talks broke down.
