Ghanaian superstar King Promise, one of the leading names driving Afrobeats onto the global stage, opens a new chapter with his new single “Melody,” out today, alongside its official music video premiering at 5pm WAT.
Centered on the beauty, movement and the magnetic pull of a woman, “Melody” captures the euphoria of attraction through King Promise’s signature blend of Afrobeats, Highlife and R&B. With an instantly memorable hook that plays on the very idea of a melody, the record celebrates both the feeling of falling for someone and the artist’s gift for creating music that stays with you. It marks the first official single from his anticipated new album, planned for 2027.
The release arrives off the heels of See What We’ve Done, King Promise’s collaborative project with Nigerian superstar Mr Eazi, released in April. Building on a longstanding creative partnership, the project celebrated the duo’s musical chemistry and shared history, further showcasing King Promise’s versatility across contemporary African sounds. With “Melody,” he carries that momentum into a new solo chapter rooted in romance, feel-good rhythms and his unmistakable melodic sensibility
With three acclaimed solo albums, As Promised (2019), 5 Star (2022) and True to Self (2024), King Promise has built a catalogue that connects Ghanaian musical heritage with a global pop sensibility. His international breakthrough, “Terminator,” has amassed more than 265 million streams. With a large majority of streams coming from outside Africa, alongside more than 12 million TikTok creations, the record has helped extend his reach across the UK, Europe, North America, Southeast Asia and beyond.

The accompanying visuals feature the “Rent Paid” Football Tournament hosted by King Promise and Chelsea FC in Accra, marking the first time the club’s new home kit touched African soil, alongside scenes at SDA Park in Nungua, where he grew up playing football.
The collaboration is further explored in Chelsea FC’s mini-documentary, which traces King Promise’s journey back to the streets of Nungua and the community that helped shape his dreams.
