Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has shared an interesting take on marriage, revealing why he would prefer his future wife to live longer than him.
The rapper opened up about love, family, and responsibility during a conversation on the In Motion podcast, where he also spoke about how his Christian faith influences the way he views relationships.

For Odumodu, marriage comes with a level of sacrifice, especially from the man. He explained that his understanding is rooted in the biblical instruction for husbands to love their wives in the same way Christ loved the church.
He believes that mindset also explains why he hopes to pass away before his wife. According to him, his wife would then be in a position to look after their children and ensure that what he leaves behind is properly managed.
The rapper also sees his wife playing a major role in continuing whatever he starts, particularly when it comes to raising their children. He pointed to the influence mothers have during a child’s earliest years as part of the reason he holds this view.
Beyond marriage, Odumodublvck was also surprisingly open about his relationship with money. The rapper admitted that managing his finances isn’t exactly his strongest area, revealing that his girlfriend currently helps keep his money in check because he has a habit of giving it away.
He then drew an interesting comparison between relationships and chess, using the queen—the most powerful piece on the board—to explain how he believes women should be valued and positioned within a relationship.
Meanwhile, Odumodublvck also addressed how he is perceived by some people, admitting that it frustrates him when he is viewed as an “insurgent.”
His comments come shortly after the rapper found himself at the centre of a public dispute with fellow Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez, with the situation reportedly involving a woman.
