Fireboy DML has offered fans a glimpse into his early days as a songwriter, revealing that he played a role in writing Immediately, the 2018 collaboration between Mystro and Wizkid.
The YBNL star disclosed this during a live Twitch session while reflecting on his songwriting journey and some of the records he worked on before establishing himself as one of Nigeria’s leading Afrobeats artists.
According to Fireboy, he was part of the songwriting process for Immediately, released by Mystro featuring Wizkid in 2018. The revelation adds an interesting layer to his career, considering the song arrived before his own breakthrough and mainstream recognition.
Fireboy would later gain widespread attention with Jealous, the record that helped introduce his distinctive sound to a much larger audience and set the stage for his rise as a recording artiste.
Beyond his connection to Wizkid, the singer also revealed that he had written songs for another major Nigerian star, Tiwa Savage, during his earlier songwriting years.
However, Fireboy did not reveal the titles of the songs he reportedly wrote for the Afrobeats queen.
The revelation highlights a lesser-known chapter of Fireboy’s journey, showing that his musical career extended beyond performing and recording long before he became a household name.
Since breaking into the mainstream, Fireboy has gone on to release successful albums, earn major collaborations and establish himself as one of the prominent voices of contemporary Nigerian music.
