Shallipopi has addressed his recent silence surrounding the ongoing dispute with his former manager, Dapper, revealing that he has been advised to let the legal process take its course.
The singer, whose real name is Crown Uzama, explained in a recent social media update that his lawyers and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have asked him to avoid making further public comments while the matter remains under investigation.
The decision comes after weeks of public tension between Shallipopi and Dapper, whose professional relationship broke down following allegations surrounding the management of the singer’s music and finances.
Among the claims previously made by Shallipopi is an allegation that royalties from 46 of his songs were withheld. The dispute has since spilt into the public space, with both parties presenting their sides of the story and attracting considerable attention across the Nigerian music industry.
Shallipopi has now chosen to step away from the back-and-forth. He indicated that he will no longer use his songs, social media pages or other public platforms to discuss the allegations while the authorities work on the case.
